The most important new feature is the confirmation that certain personalities will be present at the Summit. The updated Summit programme is available. HRH the Prince of Asturias, will attend the inauguration. Furthermore, the Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero will take part in the discussions on the 10th, where Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations, will give a keynote speech and HM King Juan Carlos I of Spain will also address the Summit's participants.Number 1, February 8, 2005
In this issue, CountDown highlights the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Spanish Government, the Regional Government of Madrid and the Town Hall of Madrid with the Club of Madrid, for the staging of the International Summit on Democracy, Terrorism and Security. Through this agreement, all levels of Spanish government are reaffirming their desire to use this Summit as a symbol of their commitment to combat terrorism and their support of its victims.Number 0, January 10, 2005
