UN Secretary General’s Executive Coordinator, Millennium Development Goals Campaign

Prior to current appointment served as Netherlands Minister for Development Cooperation (1998 - 2002). Member of the World Bank and IMF Development Committee and a Co-founder of the Utstein-Group. Presently a member of the World Commission on the Social Dimensions of Globalization. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of the Netherlands at the United Nations (1996 - 1998).
