Has chaired BBC Radio 4´s Any Questions? since 1987 and began presenting Any Answers? the following year. Creator of the BBC series on the final five years of British rule in Hong Kong, The Last Governor, and published book of the same name. More recently, has written and presented programmes about Ethiopia and Kosovo.
